Eastern Southland Rugby Sub Union

Sub-Union History

The first organised rugby competition in the Eastern Southland Rugby Sub Union took place in 1904. The teams taking part were Albion, Excelsior, Waikaka Valley, Waikaka, Wyndham and Waikaia. The following year saw the affiliations of the Pioneer Rugby Club, Mataura Rugby Club and Edendale Rugby Club. In 1908, the sub union was affiliated to the Southland Rugby Union
