Wellington College

Rugby at Wellington College is run by the Wellington College Rugby Football Club which was established in 1877 and is one of the oldest of its kind in the country. Wellington College is a very proud and traditional NZ rugby school. The 1st XV are very competitive in the local competition and they also compete in the oldest secondary school rugby tournament, the Quadrangular Tournament. Wellington College also competed in the first ever recorded secondary schools match against Nelson College. All Blacks With 35, Wellington College boasts the third highest number of All Blacks of any secondary school in the country. To see the full list, click on the link. Dane Coles became our 33rd All Black on the November 2012 tour, while Jeff Toomaga-Allen became our 34th when he came on as a replacement against Japan in 2013. Most recently, Lima Sopoaga debuted against the Springboks in July 2015.
