Waihora Rugby Club

The Waihora Rugby Club is a long-standing country sports club based at Rhodes Park in Tai Tapu, just south of Christchurch in the Canterbury region.

Key History & Background

• Foundation (1913): The club was established in 1913 to serve the rural communities around Tai Tapu, Motukarara, and the surrounding Ellesmere/Banks Peninsula area.

• Home Ground: Based out of Rhodes Park Domain on Old Tai Tapu Road in Tai Tapu.

• Recognition & Modern Growth: In 2019, Waihora RFC was named Outstanding Sports Club of the Year at the Canterbury Sports Awards, recognized for its family-focused model and development programs spanning junior grades up to Division 1.
