Although United Rugby Club has been part of the Hurunui Rugby Club (with Waiau and Culverden) since 1997, the centenary of the United Club was an occasion that would not be overlooked and would be celebrated, heartily. Over 250 members and supporters attended, with many others turned away due to the huge turnout. Life member, Doc Sidey wrote the wonderful 60 page centenary book and Dee Ginders arranged everything beautifully. As with many celebrations due in the last few years, Covid saw the celebration delayed from 2021 to 2023.
