St Peter’s College

St Peter’s College in Auckland has a strong and successful history in rugby union, particularly with its First XV team in the top-tier Auckland 1A competition and national tournaments. Major Achievements • National First XV Championship Titles: St Peter’s College (Auckland) has won the national title, also known as the New Zealand Barbarians Cup, three times: 2000, 2017 and 2018 (Against Napier Boys’ High School, overturning a 21-0 deficit) • Auckland 1A Premiership Titles: The school has won the competitive Auckland 1A title four times (with two shared titles): 1987 (Shared). 1988 (Shared), 2000 and 2018 Notable Players • All Blacks: Patrick Tuipulotu, Bernie McCahill, Pat Lam (Also played for Samoa, former coach), Shane Howarth (Also played for Wales), Dylan Mika (Also played for Manu Samoa), Francis Saili, Bradley Mika, AJ Lam, Harry Plummer, Steve Nesbit (The first All Black from the school), Other International Players: Ben Lam (NZ Sevens), Bryn Hall (Blues), Niko Jones (Auckland representative), Cyril Eastlake and Hugh McGahan (Notable Kiwi Rugby League captains who played rugby at the school)
