The Ranfurly Football Club is a historical New Zealand rugby union club based in the Maniototo region of Central Otago.
Key Historical Milestones
• Foundation (1902): The club was established in 1902 in the railway township of Ranfurly. It became a central part of grassroots rugby across the Maniototo plain.
• Affiliation: The club played under the umbrella of the Otago Rugby Football Union (ORFU).
• Club Merger: In 1907, the neighbouring Gimmerburn-Patearoa Rugby Club was formed. Eventually, Ranfurly combined forces with them to form what is known today as the Maniototo Rugby Football Club, which continues to represent the district in Central Otago country rugby.
