Club History

Palmerston North Technical Old Boys United Rugby Club

Palmerston North Technical Old Boys United Rugby Club can be traced back to 1912 when the union introduced a district scheme in Palmerston North with Northern, which is now College, Eastern, Southern and Western. Northern and Southern merged the next year to become United and won the Hankins Shield the following year, then merged with Western in 1915 to become Western United. The club changed its name to Athletic, then combined with West End Old Boys to become United. The club later became Palmerston North Technical Old Boys, then Queen Elizabeth College Old Boys, but shortened the name to College Old Boys.
