Norsewood Rugby Club

Norsewood Rugby Club – Norsewood is a small rural settlement situated east of the Ruahine Mountain range and is located 20 kilometres northeast of Dannevirke. The Norsewood Rugby Club was formed in 1906 and went into recss during WW1. It reformed as United but went into recess again during WW2. In 1947 it reformed as the Northern Club but went back into recess for the final time in 1954. A local player, Peter Bowden, represented Hawkes Bay against the 1950 Lions.
