Club History

Linwood Rugby Club

Established in 1886, the Linwood Rugby Club is one of the most successful clubs in the Canterbury Union. Brothers Ben and Owen Franks are the most recent rugby stars to come from the Linwood club and their photos grace the walls of the clubroom, as do paintings of Fergie McCormick and Tane Norton, and a 1905 padded All Blacks jersey owned by Duncan McGregor, aka The Flying Scotsman.
