Club History

Collingwood Rugby Club

The Collingwood Rugby Club was formed at the end of 1888, playing its first match the next season, and was an inaugural member of the Golden Bay sub-union when it was formed in 1891. Through subsequent years the club has supplied players to the Nelson, Golden Bay-Motueka and Nelson Bays unions and now comes under the Tasman union. Future All Black captain Todd Blackadder played for the club as a teenager.
